Xbox has revealed that Battletoads will launch on Xbox One and PC on August 20.
The game, developed by Dlala Studios with support from Rare, is the first entry for the series in 26 years. In a post on Xbox Wire, Adam Park, Head of Brand and Licensing at Rare, highlighted that the team have tried to stay true to the original titles while making it more accessible for different types of players.
“Dlala’s new approach focuses on maintaining this mayhem while ensuring you have enough options to play at your own pace.”
“Just like before, you’ll be faced with hugely varied challenges as you play, including new vehicle sections and even some puzzle-solving this time around!”
The team also confirmed that couch co-op will be in the game. Battletoads will allow up to three players to drop in and out at any time. Much like other Xbox titles, the game will launch into Xbox Game Pass on release. Pre-load availability will come soon, according to Park.
