Gearbox has today confirmed that the next-gen versions of Borderlands 3 will be available at launch, meaning Xbox Series X/S owners can play on November 10, while PlayStation 5 owners will have it for launch on November 12 (or 19 depending on you region).
Revealed in an update on the Borderlands website, the next-gen editions will feature three and four-player split-screen in local play, as well as 4K resolution at 60fps in single-player and online co-op.
“We’re proud to confirm that next-gen Borderlands 3 will be available day-and-date alongside the new consoles, playable at launch on the Xbox Series X / Series S on November 10 and the PlayStation 5 when it launches on November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and South Korea, and November 19 in the rest of the world.”
“Existing owners of Borderlands 3 on current-gen platforms can easily transition to the next-gen versions within the same console family. If you own Borderlands 3 on Xbox One, you’ll be able to play the Xbox Series X/S version, and if you own the game on PlayStation 4, you’ll be able to play the PlayStation 5 version.”
Gearbox has teased more news to share during a special episode of The Borderlands Show, which takes place on October 30 at 2:00 AM AEST over on the Borderlands Twitch channel.
Borderlands 3 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC (via the Epic Games Store). It will be available for Xbox Series X/S on November 10, and PlayStation 5 on November 12 (depending on your region).
