It’s something we’ve said already, but somehow Toys for Bob and Activision have managed to pack even more content into the upcoming Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time.
Today’s latest announcement unveiled brand new local multiplayer modes that would be available in the game when it launches this Friday (October 2).
In a preview featured on IGN, two competitive multiplayer game types were revealed and will fall under the ‘Bandicoot Battle’ banner in the game. The first mode is Checkpoint Race, which pits players against each other in a series of races to checkpoints within a level. The player to reach the checkpoints with the fastest overall time is the winner.
The other gametype is Crate Combo, a mode where players compete against each other as they try to break the most crates in a level. There’s a combo counter in this mode, which increases the value. It’ll begin to go down if players don’t keep breaking crates, however.
Finally, it was revealed that co-op would also be available in the game. ‘Pass N. Play’ is a mode where up to four players can take turns as they work their way through the game’s story and/or N. Verted levels. The mode lets one player take their turn, before passing the controller along once they die.
These modes will be available with up to four players, and you’ll be able to play as either Crash, Coco, Fake Crash and the newly announced Fake Coco.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 2. Check out our preview for the game here.
