Just over a week ago, we saw season 3 go live in Halo: MCC which brought a wealth of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST-themed items to the game. Now, in the latest development update, it has been confirmed that Halo: Reach will receive new customisation options with two previously unreleased armour pieces finally becoming available.
One of these items happen to be the once famous GRD helmet, which initially stirred speculation of a new addition to the customisation system back when the Defiant Map Pack launched in early 2011.
There’s also an additional chest piece on the way, as well as armour effects for Elites. All of this is planned to be available in the game’s next season, which we presume will arrive alongside Halo 4‘s addition to the PC version of the game.
The development update is quite a lengthy one but is definitely worth a read. It also details other new features that are in development, including the much-anticipated custom game browser, updates to Halo 4’s Forge mode, and comments around cross-play and other technical aspects of the game. If you’re still playing Halo: The Master Chief Collection, it’s definitely worth the read.
It’s great to see even more being added to this game. The current product is a stark contrast to how it looked when it first released and you really have to praise the team for their consistent effort. We previously detailed how the team reinvigorated the game after a disastrous launch.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection is available now on Xbox One and PC. It is also available through Xbox Game Pass.
