Following recent rumours that Nintendo could be preparing an upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch, Bloomberg is now reporting that Nintendo has outreached to developers to make their games capable of 4K.
“Nintendo is making preparations for an upgraded Switch model and a beefed-up games lineup for 2021,” the report reads.
“Several outside game developers, speaking anonymously as the issue is private, said that Nintendo has asked them to make their games 4K-ready, suggesting a resolution upgrade is on its way.”
The report also reveals Nintendo’s struggles to keep up with console demand. This is largely due to the overwhelming success of Animal Cross: New Horizons, forcing Nintendo to raise production orders to 25 million back in August.
Nintendo has yet to comment on the rumours on a new Nintendo Switch model, but we’ll be sure to update once we know more.
