Obsidian Entertainment had a strong presence at the Xbox Games Showcase, revealing a brand new IP, sharing a new trailer for their co-op survival game Grounded, and also unveiling new DLC for The Outer Worlds.
Avowed is a new IP from the acclaimed developer – an action RPG set in the fantastical world of Eora. It’s currently in development for Xbox Series X and Windows PC.
Grounded received another new trailer ahead of its launch into Game Preview on July 28.
“Combining elements from the RPG world with the best elements of survival games, you and up to 3 other players explore the backyard from the perspective of an ant to piece together how to return back to normal life-size.”
“Gather, craft and build bases with everyday objects you find in the yard, or just feed your friends to the spiders.”
Grounded will be available through Game Preview on Xbox One and Windows PC from July 28. It will also be playable through Xbox Game Pass.
Finally, the team also announced the first of two planned downloadable expansions for The Outer Worlds.
“The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon adds a substantial amount of content to The Outer Worlds‘ darkly humorous universe.”
Setting out to investigate where Adrena-Time originated, players will find new weapons and armour, perks, flaws, and more.
The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon will be available on September 9. Those who played The Outer Worlds with Xbox Game Pass can grab this and future adventures, or the expansion pass packaging both add-ons for an extra 10% off. I loved The Outer Worlds, so check back in for impressions once it’s launched.
