The PlayStation 5 launch is less than a month away and in anticipation, Sony has just released a surprise State of Play dedicated to The PS5 UI.
It looks significantly different to what we’ve seen from the PS4, and I’m keen to hear more about the updated PlayStation Store in the future.
“We believe your play time is valuable and should be meaningful, and all the new features we’re delivering are inspired by that concept and vision. The new UX introduces several new features designed to make your gaming experiences more fun, engaging, personalised and social,” said Hideaki Nishino, Senior Vice President, Platform Planning & Management, in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
The PlayStation 5 has a slew of new features, such as Activities. Displayed as cards within the Control Centre, Activities are designed to bring an increased focus on key elements of gameplay.
Activities looked pretty cool. With these, you’re able to track your progression through challenges and can even view hints on anything that you’re stuck with.
“Navigating the interface, switching between games, and hopping into online matches occurs quickly, as we rebuilt the entire software stack from the console to the network to bring you a truly next-generation experience. We believe the less time you spend waiting to interact with the system, the more time you will have to spend playing games.”
There’s plenty more to see in the State of Play, so highly recommend you check it out.
