Nintendo just dropped a surprise Super Mario-themed Nintendo Direct that revealed a number of announcements in celebration of the series’ 35th anniversary.
Most notably are two upcoming releases. The first of which is a Nintendo Switch port of Super Mario 3D World. Originally released on the Wii U, Super Mario 3D World features up to four-player co-operative play and was one of the most well-received games on the platform. The Nintendo Switch version will feature both local and online play, and it’ll also come with an expansion called Bowser’s Fury.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury will be available on February 12, 2021.
The most notable announcement from the event was for Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and it’s coming very soon.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars features Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy in one package. Each game will feature an increased resolution and are fully compatible with the Nintendo Switch’s controls
Oddly enough, the deal doesn’t include the critically acclaimed Super Mario Galaxy 2, and it will only be available for a limited time both at retail and digitally.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars will be available from September 18 until March 2021.
Nintendo had even more announcements to share, so be sure to check out the entire direct below.
