We haven’t seen it in some time, but today DONTNOD‘s Twin Mirror reemerged, alongside a swanky new release date.
The psychological thriller will be available on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC (exclusively through the Epic Games Store) from December 1.
The team detailed the game in an update on their website.
“Sam Higgs returns to Basswood, his hometown, for his best friend’s funeral. It quickly becomes clear that this small town in West Virginia holds dark secrets. The former investigative journalist will then have to use his extraordinary analytical mind to lift the veil on the mysteries hovering over the city and its inhabitants.”
“Sam’s mental palace is a refuge for him, a place of expression where he can be himself, without pressure or judgment, a place where the player can revisit his past and consult his memories in the form of flashbacks. He also plays a decisive role in his quest for truth. The player will be able to observe his environment and collect information that will help him to simulate several scenarios in order to deduce the unfolding of past events or to anticipate key moments in history.”
“Confronted with his past, he will be torn between his quest for truth and his desire to reconnect with those close to him.”
The game certainly looks like it’ll capture the mystery and weirdness that DONTNOD is known for. With the team riding high after the release of Tell Me Why we’re sure many will expect the game to perform well.
