In a blog update, World of Warcraft executive producer John Hight revealed Blizzard had made the “incredibly difficult decision” to push the release back.
“Blizzard has a commitment to quality. We believe Shadowlands will be something special, and we’ve heard from many of you who feel the same. We need this extra time to ensure that Shadowlands lives up to its full potential,” said Hight
Hight didn’t mention specific date that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands would now be targeting, but he was sure to note that it would still launch sometime this year. From the sounds of things the team are taking fan feedback into account, as it was a key reason behind the delay.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we hear more.
